So just a short while ago i saw a trailer for a little alien flick entitled District 9 . I thought to my self "produced by Peter Jackson(director of The Lord of The Rings and King Kong) cant be all bad" however on the day that i went to see it i was BLOWN AWAY!!!!!!! The opening 1/2 is mainly comprised of news stories on some huge space ship that stopped over a city in south Africa. Turns out that we went up to the ship (wich has been in place for 5 years) and rescued the poverty stricken aliens, or prawns, are held. We isolate them in a little place called District 9 comprised of mostly run down old shacks and caabaleistic Africans! We follow a news reporter who farther into the story gets squirted by some misterious liquid! As this in may ways is a classic action packed sci-fi thriller the director, Neill Blomcamp, throws in a nice blend of discrimanation and heart felt tention between two totaly different life forms! Over all i was on the edge of my seat for this whole movie and was frankly a little......ok alot freaked out by the serealism of it all like in a way it felt like that is what we would do to aliens if they showed up here. Peter Jakson hit this one out of the park when he picked it up and you will not wast a second!
gah! i want to see this SOOO bad! (can't believe you saw it without me...:D) ha.
ReplyDeletebut yeah - i heard from many viewers, including you, that this movie was BEYOND intense! it would really leave me asking myself 'what WOULD we do in this situation?'...'how WOULD we react?'
i think taht we would do something very simmlar to this actuly you will understand when you veiw it for your self!!!
